About Me

Born and bred into farming, it has been my passion from as early as I can remember. After leaving school I attended Newton Rigg College gaining a National Diploma in Agriculture, whilst working full time on our family farm.
In 2005, we started our contract shearing business, working mainly around the Eden Valley area. This has given me the opportunity to travel and shear all over the world including New Zealand, Australia, France and Norway.

Currently I am studying for a 2020 Nuffield Scholarship. I plan on visiting and learning from farmers who are practicing regenerative farming systems around the world.

My Passion

I am really passionate about producing top quality grass fed meat whilst enhancing our natural environment on our farm here in the Eden Valley.

About me

Along side finishing school I worked at Brampton Golf Club as a Green Keeper for 3 years. After our family bought High hall I came back to work on the farm at 17. Farming has always been my passion after working along side my dad and brother in my younger years.

At the age of 25 I set sail across the other side of the world to visit New Zealand where I experienced their way of farming on beef, sheep and deer farms. This gave me a really different view of our farm and gave me real desire to help make our farm as efficient and environmentally friendly as possible it really was the trip of a lifetime.

Outside farming I have turned my hand to house renovations rebuilding my cottage. I enjoy playing golf and play football for Kirkoswald football club.
I have also always been a keen young farmers member where I found the love for tug of war, I then went on to represent England in the UK championships.
